The R&D SSG Senior Technical Project Manager role is to plan, manage and implement formulation technical development work for the RB Home and Hygiene business in South East Asia. You will be responsible to deliver specific projects such us existing product development, new product development , cost improvement designed to maintain and grow the business and provides factory technical support to ensure products are manufactured at the correct quality and cost.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for specific RB product brands manufactured / sold in Indonesia (e.g. Dettol, Harpic)
- Technical leader for all formulation development of those brands
- Manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously. Organise own time and team resources (R&D Analysts) to ensure activities are completed as per project schedules
- Coach and develop R&D Analyst team to ensure work is of required quality, and progress continuous improvement culture and personal development within department
- Work with large and complex group of partners and stakeholders including packaging development, regulatory, quality, procurement, supply, central R&D, and other country R&D departments
- Deputise for Head of R&D SSG where required
- Ensure where needed the below are completed for each project:
- Project risk assessment
- Formula development
- Lab & industrial trials
- Product performance testing
- Stability testing
- Product claim / copy technical support & approval
- Product benchmarking vs competitors
- New analytical test method development
- Product safety & regulatory compliance (with support from safety and regulatory)
- Project-related documentation (protocols, trial reports, specifications, regulatory documentation)
Desired Skills and Experience
- Degree level (Chemistry, chemical engineering or other relevant science)
- At least 5 years experience in R&D formulation development, new product development, supply technical, QA, or other role involving solving formulation technical problems
- Problem solving skills using logical thought
- Project management skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills. Ability to handle and prioritise multiple projects, and obtain support from colleagues on top priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Able to work and lead team independently, requesting support from line manager and colleagues when needed
- Able to work in direct and often pressurised environment
- Strong leadership, influencing, motivational and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of building strong working relationships and motivating teams to deliver outstanding results.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Strong intellectual curiosity, apppetite for exploring new and previously uncharted territories.
- Openness to change and ability to think out of the box.
- Flexible to travel within Indonesia and South-East for short business trips (< 1 week), if required
